The train
Paris Gare de Lyon to Barcelona Sants
Direct high-speed trains link Paris Gare de Lyon with Barcelona Sants in about 6 hours 30 minutes to 7 hours, through southern France and the tunnel under the Pyrenees. There are only a few direct departures a day, so check the timetable for your date with the rail operators and book early in high season. Other journeys change trains in southern France and take longer.
Large suitcases travel in the racks at the end of each carriage and between the seats. Keep passports and cruise documents in your hand luggage.
One fixed price for the whole vehicle, luggage included, shown before you pay.

Timing
Travel the day before
A morning train can reach Barcelona in the early afternoon, close to the all-aboard time of many ships. A delay of an hour or two on a seven-hour journey would leave no margin, so the calm plan is to arrive the day before, sleep in Barcelona and take a short transfer to the terminal at your check-in slot.
