Guide · Embarkation day in Barcelona

Embarkation day at the Barcelona cruise port

Sailing day is simpler than it looks if you arrive in your slot with the right papers. Here is how boarding usually works at the Adossat Wharf terminals, and how to time your transfer from the hotel or the airport.

Plan the pick-up around your ship

Choose your terminal and tell us how you leave the ship and when your flight is. You get the pick-up time we would book, when you reach the airport and how much margin is left. For embarkation day, enter your landing and sailing times instead.

  2. 11:30Your driver meets you in arrivals
  3. 12:05At Terminal H (35 min planned)
  4. 16:30Approximate all-aboard time

Comfortable. 4 h 25 min of margin before all aboard. Check in at the time your cruise line gives you.

Book the airport to port transfer

A prudent plan, not a promise: times on the day depend on your ship, the luggage hall and traffic. Your cruise line’s instructions always prevail. Free waiting at the port is 30 minutes from the agreed pick-up time.

Before you leave

Check-in slot, documents and luggage tags

Most cruise lines give each cabin a check-in time when you complete online check-in. Arriving in that slot, not hours before it, is what keeps the queues short: on a turnaround morning the terminal is still clearing the previous sailing, and early arrivals often wait outside.

Keep your passport or ID, boarding documents and any medication in your hand luggage. Attach the luggage tags your cruise line sends you to the large suitcases before you leave the hotel: they are what tells the port staff which ship and cabin the bags go to.

At the terminal

Drop-off, luggage drop and security

Your driver drops you at the entrance of your terminal, next to the area where porters take the tagged suitcases. From there you walk in with your hand luggage, go through security and check-in, and board. The suitcases are delivered to your cabin later in the day.

The terminals on the Adossat Wharf sit at the far end of a long breakwater, between 2 and 4 km from the city centre, so it is not a walk with luggage. Send us the terminal printed on your documents; if it changes, we adjust the drop-off.

Timing your transfer

When to book the pick-up

From a hotel

Pick-up 30–45 min before your slot

The drive is usually 10 to 25 minutes. Free waiting at hotels is 15 minutes, so be in the lobby at the agreed time.

From El Prat

Land well before all aboard

Allow time for baggage claim plus 20 to 35 minutes of driving. If the margin is thin, fly in the day before.

From Sants

After the train

Allow for the walk to the meeting point. The drive is usually 15 to 30 minutes.

Good to know

A calm sailing day

  • All aboard is usually 60 to 90 minutes before the ship sails; your documents give the exact time.
  • Use the planner on this page to check the margin between your landing and all aboard.
  • If you have a few hours before your slot, most hotels keep luggage after check-out.
  • Tell us the real number of suitcases so the vehicle has room for all of them.

Questions from the bridge

How early should I arrive at the cruise terminal?

At the check-in time your cruise line gives you. Arriving much earlier usually means waiting outside while the terminal clears the previous sailing.

What is the all-aboard time?

The time by which every passenger must be on board, usually 60 to 90 minutes before departure. It is printed on your documents.

Can I fly in on the day of my cruise?

Many travellers do, but a flight delay can make you miss the ship. Use the planner on this page; if the margin is short, arrive the day before.

Where does the driver drop us?

At the entrance of your terminal, next to the luggage drop. Send us the terminal printed on your documents.

Can I change the pick-up time?

Send any change (time, address, passengers, luggage) by email or WhatsApp with your booking number. Changes are free with 24 hours’ notice; the minimum notice is 3 hours, or 8 hours on weekends, public holidays and their eves.
