Guide · A day in port

Barcelona as a port of call: from the ship to the city

On a port call you have a few hours and a fixed time to be back on board. Getting off the breakwater quickly, and back without stress, is what makes the day.

Getting off the wharf

Your options from the terminal

Public

Port shuttle bus

A shuttle links the terminals with the bottom of La Rambla. Timetables follow ship calls; compare it in the City Guide BCN cruise port guide.

Private

Transfer to one place

Your driver meets you at the terminal and drops you where you want to start the day: the Sagrada Família, Passeig de Gràcia or the old town.

Return

Back to the ship

A second transfer from wherever you finish, timed well before all aboard.

One fixed price for the whole vehicle, luggage included, shown before you pay.

Booking

Two transfers, one clear plan

Book the port to city transfer in the widget and write the place where you want to be dropped. For the return, book a second transfer from the city to the cruise port with the address of your last stop. Each leg has its own fixed price and confirmation.

We sell transfers, not guided tours or hourly hire: if you want a driver for the whole day, message us and we tell you honestly what we can do.

All aboard

Never cut it fine

  • Plan to be back at the terminal at least an hour before all aboard: the access road can be slow in the afternoon.
  • Free waiting is 15 minutes at a city address and 30 minutes at the port.
  • Keep your cruise card and ID with you; you need them to re-enter the terminal.
  • Your terminal letter is on your daily programme; check it before you leave the ship.

One fixed price for the whole vehicle, luggage included, shown before you pay.

Questions from the bridge

How far is the cruise port from La Rambla?

The Adossat Wharf terminals are 2 to 4 km from the city centre, beyond the World Trade Center at the bottom of La Rambla.

Can I walk into Barcelona from the cruise ship?

It is a long walk along a busy breakwater road. Most passengers take the port shuttle or a transfer.

Do you offer tours of Barcelona?

Not as an online product. We offer transfers from the ship to the city and back.

What if traffic makes me late for the ship?

Leave a wide margin: book the return pick-up at least an hour before you need to be at the terminal. Only your cruise line decides about late boarding.
