The cruise port

Know your terminal before you land

Cruise ships in Barcelona berth at the Adossat Wharf, a long breakwater at the far end of the port. The World Trade Center pier next to the old town has had a single cruise terminal, Barcelona Sud, which is due to close at the end of 2026. Your driver goes straight to the terminal on your booking, so you never have to cross the port on foot with your luggage.

Then and now

Barcelona Nord and Barcelona Sud

The World Trade Center pier (Moll de Barcelona) had two cruise terminals: Barcelona Nord and Barcelona Sud, often called WTC North and WTC South in cruise guides. They were popular because they are close to the old town and the bottom of La Rambla.

According to the Port of Barcelona, the last cruise ship left Barcelona Nord on 2 October 2023, when its calls moved to the Adossat Wharf. Barcelona Sud is due to stop operating at the end of 2026 under the 2025 agreement with the City Council, which moves all cruise activity to the Adossat Wharf.

What it means for you

If an older guide says your ship uses the WTC

Many websites, forum threads and printed guides still describe the World Trade Center terminals as an option for smaller ships. If your sailing is in 2027 or later, expect to embark or disembark at the Adossat Wharf instead, unless your cruise documents say otherwise.

The difference matters for planning. The WTC pier is close enough to the old town that some passengers walked; the Adossat Wharf is not. Book your transfer to the cruise port and send us the terminal from your documents; your driver goes straight there.

Sailing before the closure?

Transfers to Barcelona Sud until it closes

If your documents show Barcelona Sud for a sailing in 2026, we take you there in the same way: choose the cruise port in the widget and write “Barcelona Sud” in the booking form. The price is fixed per vehicle, with 30 minutes of free waiting at the port on pick-ups.

Planning ahead

Booking a 2027 cruise from Barcelona

If you are booking a sailing for 2027 or later, plan as if your ship will use the Adossat Wharf. In practice that means planning a vehicle or the port shuttle rather than a walk from your hotel, and allowing a little more time from the city than older guides suggest.

Your transfer price does not depend on the terminal, so there is no need to wait for the final terminal letter before booking. Reserve the cruise port as your destination now and send us the terminal when your documents arrive.

Frequently asked questions

Is the World Trade Center cruise terminal still open?

Barcelona Nord stopped receiving cruise ships in October 2023. Barcelona Sud is due to close at the end of 2026, per the Port of Barcelona.

Where will my ship berth instead?

At the Adossat Wharf, at the far end of the port. Your cruise documents show the exact terminal.

Can I still walk from La Rambla to my ship?

Not to the Adossat Wharf with luggage: it is a long way along the port road. Plan a vehicle or the port shuttle.

Do you go to Barcelona Sud?

Yes, while it is in use. Choose the cruise port and write the terminal name in the booking form.

Does the price change with the terminal?

No. The fixed price per vehicle is the same for every cruise terminal.
