The cruise port
Know your terminal before you land
Cruise ships in Barcelona berth at the Adossat Wharf, a long breakwater at the far end of the port. The World Trade Center pier next to the old town has had a single cruise terminal, Barcelona Sud, which is due to close at the end of 2026. Your driver goes straight to the terminal on your booking, so you never have to cross the port on foot with your luggage.

- World Trade Center · Barcelona Sud (closing end 2026)
- City centre · La Rambla
- To El Prat Airport · ≈ 15 km
Schematic map, not to scale. Terminals open, close and change assignments: the terminal printed on your cruise documents always prevails.
The night before
Luggage tags and your disembarkation time
On the last day at sea your cruise line usually gives you luggage tags and a disembarkation group or time. If you put your large suitcases outside your cabin that night, they are taken off the ship and laid out in the terminal hall by tag. If you prefer to carry your own luggage, you can usually leave earlier as a “self-assist” passenger. Keep passports, medication and anything you need for the morning in your hand luggage.
Once you know your time, check your transfer booking. If the time has moved, send us the change by WhatsApp with your booking number.
Disembarkation day
How turnaround day works
The ship docks
Your ship arrives early in the morning and the terminal is prepared for disembarkation while the next sailing gets ready.
You leave the ship by group
Passengers disembark in groups, usually by luggage tag colour or number. Book your pick-up around your group’s time and tell us if it changes.
Your driver meets you
Your driver waits at the terminal pick-up area, with 30 minutes of free waiting from the agreed time, and helps load your luggage.
Straight to the airport or hotel
You ride directly to El Prat, your hotel or Sants. If you fly the same day, leave a generous margin before check-in closes.
In the terminal
From the gangway to your vehicle
After leaving the ship you walk through the terminal, collect your suitcases in the luggage hall, and pass any customs or passport checks that apply to your itinerary. Then you exit to the pick-up area, where your driver waits. Free waiting at the port is 30 minutes from the agreed time; it starts at the pick-up time, not when the ship docks.
On busy turnaround days several ships can be in port and the roads around the wharf fill up. Our drivers know the access routes and the pick-up zones; we confirm the meeting point by message before the day.
Planning the rest of the day
Flight, hotel or train
Allow a generous margin
Disembarkation, the drive and airport check-in all take time. Follow your cruise line’s advice on the earliest flight to book.
Hotel first
Drop your bags at the hotel and enjoy the city. Many hotels keep luggage before check-in.
Sants station
Leave time for the security check at the station entrance before high-speed trains.

Tips
A smoother last morning
To compare the public options between the port and the city, such as the cruise bus, our editorial sister site City Guide BCN has a guide checked against the Port of Barcelona.
- Book your pick-up around your disembarkation group, not the ship’s arrival time.
- Save our WhatsApp number before the day and message us if your group is delayed.
- Tell us the real number of suitcases so the vehicle has room for all of them.
- Keep your booking number at hand for any change.

Around your disembarkation group or time. If it is not confirmed when you book, use your best estimate and send us the change later.
What if my group is called late?
Free waiting at the port is 30 minutes from the agreed time. If you know you will be later, message us before the pick-up time and we adjust where possible.
Can I leave the ship early if I carry my own bags?
Usually yes, as a self-assist passenger, but the rules are set by your cruise line. Check on board.
How do I change the pick-up time?
