Barcelona airport to the cruise port by public transport

There is no direct public transport from El Prat to the cruise terminals. It can be done with an airport bus and the port shuttle, and it suits light travellers with time to spare. Here is the route, step by step, and what to weigh before choosing it.

Plan the pick-up around your ship

Choose your terminal and tell us how you leave the ship and when your flight is. You get the pick-up time we would book, when you reach the airport and how much margin is left. For embarkation day, enter your landing and sailing times instead.

  1. 10:30Your flight lands
  2. 11:30Your driver meets you in arrivals
  3. 12:05At Terminal H (35 min planned)
  4. 16:30Approximate all-aboard time

Comfortable. 4 h 25 min of margin before all aboard. Check in at the time your cruise line gives you.

Book the airport to port transfer

A prudent plan, not a promise: times on the day depend on your ship, the luggage hall and traffic. Your cruise line’s instructions always prevail. Free waiting at the port is 30 minutes from the agreed pick-up time.

Step by step

The public transport route

1

Airport bus to the centre

The Aerobús leaves from outside T1 (line A1) and T2 (line A2) and reaches Plaça Catalunya in about 35 minutes. It runs day and night; check the timetable and fares on its official site.

2

Down to the seafront

From Plaça Catalunya, walk down La Rambla or take the metro to Drassanes, close to the Columbus monument. With cruise suitcases, this is the hardest part.

3

Port shuttle to the terminals

A shuttle bus runs from the Columbus monument area along the breakwater to the Adossat Wharf terminals. Its timetable follows the ship calls of the day.

Weighing it up

When public transport works, and when it does not

If you travel with a cabin bag, have several hours before your check-in slot and do not mind changing vehicles, the bus route is a reasonable choice. Many travellers use it on a port day without luggage.

With large cruise suitcases, children, older travellers or a tight margin after a long-haul flight, each change adds time and effort: lifting bags on and off two buses, the walk between them and the wait for the next shuttle. A private transfer covers the same 15 km from the arrivals hall to the terminal entrance in one vehicle, with the driver handling the luggage.

Good to know

Before you choose

  • The terminal is printed on your cruise documents; the shuttle stops at the Adossat terminals.
  • The World Trade Center terminal is within walking distance of the Columbus monument.
  • With a private transfer the price is per vehicle, so it is shared by everyone travelling together.
  • See El Prat T1 and T2 for where you land and distances and drive times for the drive.

Questions from the bridge

Is there a direct bus from Barcelona airport to the cruise port?

No. You take the airport bus to the centre, go down to the Columbus monument area and change to the port shuttle bus to the Adossat terminals.

How long does it take by public transport?

It depends on connections: about 35 minutes on the airport bus, then the walk or metro and the wait for the port shuttle. Allow well over an hour with luggage.

How long is the private transfer?

About 15 km from El Prat to the Adossat Wharf. We plan 20 to 35 minutes depending on traffic and your terminal.

Is the private transfer price per person?

No, per vehicle, with luggage included. You see the fixed price in the widget before you book.
